Sausage, Egg and Cream Cheese Hashbrown Casserole

2. Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked through. Use a wooden spoon to break it into smaller pieces as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary and set aside.

3. Prepare the Hash Browns

Spread the thawed and drained hash browns evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Press them down gently to form a solid layer.

4. Combine Eggs and Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, softened cream cheese, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. If adding optional cheddar cheese, fold it in now.
